The 47th Annual Basalt Half Marathon & Relay will be held on Saturday June 1, 2024. 

After a ¼ mile on a dirt road, the racers will descend approximately 1,000 feet in elevation, along the Frying Pan Road (paved) and finish at Basalt Middle School. There will be four aid stations along the way and each mile is clearly marked. CAUTION: This road will be open to traffic, racers should run single file or on the shoulder when they encounter oncoming vehicles. No cutting tangents is allowed and runners will be instructed to stay on the left facing traffic the entire course.

Pre-Registration:  Registration can be filled out online or through a downloadable registration form that can be printed and mailed in.  Mail in entries should be addressed Basalt Half-Marathon c/o Ron Lund, 501 Kiln Ct. Basalt, CO 81621. Checks can be made payable to Basalt High School Cross Country. Online registration will be available thru active.com.

Packet Pick Up:  Packet pick-up will be available prior to boarding the buses from 6:15-6:55 on race day at Basalt Middle School. Half marathon runners and relay teams should plan to pick up their packet during this time. There will be no additional packet pick up for second leg relay runners. Race questions? Entry Fee: Individual & Relay Team

Individual: $90.00 pre-registration; $100.00 day of race. Relay Team: $100 (team of 2 racers only) pre-registration; $130 day of race.

All proceeds benefit the Basalt High School Cross Country program.

Awards:

The top 3 finishers in each age group will receive awards. The age groups will be in 10-year increments as follows:

• Age Group Awards: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & Over.

• Relay Awards: The top team (1) in each category will receive awards: Top Male Team, Top Female Team, Top Coed Team
